Iain PALMER - Conservative Candidate for Teignmouth Town Council (Central Ward) By-Election
Polling day is on Monday 5th February 2018
Iain is well known in Teignmouth and with his wife Jackie owns the very popular seaside café at East Cliff attracting visitors from all over the country and abroad.
He is a mine of information about everything going on in the town and as a local trader takes a keen interest in the town’s wellbeing by regularly attending Town Council meetings.
Over the years he has maintained an active ongoing interest in various Committees including Teignmouth Events, the carparks Working Party and Teignmouth Town Centre Partnership.
Iain has always believed in giving back to the local community through voluntary work and he has been involved in lifesaving at Dawlish Warren since 1969.
As President of Teignmouth Beach Lifesaving Club he ensures that our young people gain vital skills and responsibility on the water.
He is a member of the Teignmouth Traders Association and is chief fundraiser for Teignmouth Folk Festival.
He is also a Director of the Dawlish and Teignmouth Community Interest Company with involvement in many major public events in the town.
Iain says “Teignmouth is a lovely place to live and work, the seafront is our shop window so we need to promote it as much as possible.
The more people visit our town supporting the local businesses the more employment opportunities will be created”.
Local Councillor, Conservative Sylvia Russell, welcomes Iain’s involvement as a Candidate in this election. “His experience and knowledge built up over many years will be a great asset to the town moving forward”
