Newton Abbot Conservative Association - News update
Party Leadership
Last week the Prime Minister announced her intention to resign as Leader of the Conservative & Unionist Party on Friday 7 June. The Prime Minister has served the Party and the nation dutifully for many years, spending time as an activist, a long-serving minister and our second female Prime Minister.
The announcement of her resignation means that a leadership election will begin on the 7th June, and it is then that the Party will start the process to elect a new leader and Prime Minister. The timetable for this is determined by the Executive of the 1922 in consultation with the Party Board, and more details, including on hustings, will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
