I am standing for Kingsteignton West at District and Town Council

So far I have completed 8 years at Teignbridge District Council and 13 Years at the Town Council. It will be a challenging term of office with greatly reduced reserves and increasing costs to deal with at Teignbridge.

Further projects in Kingsteignton Town should still be considered but with increasing involvement from both Kingsteignton Town residents and the District council for all to enjoy.

I have enjoyed supporting Kingsteignton West, including Teigngrace, residents over the last 4 years and hope you will support me again.

My background is in Finance through accountancy and insurance then through Science teaching finishing up as a Housing Officer in Exeter with Exeter City Council which introduced me to the Public Sector and my 14 year period as a Kingsteignton Town Councillor and 8 years as a Teignbridge District Councillor always representing Kingsteignton West.

I have enjoyed meeting and trying to help my residents with their problems mostly by finding the right person to contact at Teignbridge and to support the individual cases when necessary. I have been a member of the Overview and Scrutiny, Audit Scrutiny and Procedures Committees during my second term with my first term attending the Planning committee in addition. 

Within the sphere of how Teignbridge will develop and grow in the future I do support the Garden Community approach by trying to make the development fit into the environment and blend around items of cultural and natural interest. Of course, numbers of homes need to be carefully balanced between what we need locally especially around the specific type of home and simply being driven by developer greed.
